Stinky Toys’ bio. Elli & Jacno’s variété pop, with its minimal-synth arrangements, was, in the mid-80s, more than a decade ahead of the arrival of the French Touch. Their first band, Stinky Toys, took part in the Parisian punk explosion of 1976, even if they refused to be classed as such. They recorded two albums, commonly referred to as the “Grey album” (Polydor, 1977) and the “Yellow album” (Vogue, 1979), which constitute a highly original vision of a possible before and after French punk.
