Paul Winslow • Tears Behind The Stars
Praised at it digital release by both amateurs and purists for its timeless sound, “Tears behind the stars” borrows from Beach Boys and Kinks-like melodies from the 60’s, as well as from more electroprogressive and dreamy sounds from the 70’s. More than a birth certificate, it is a multifaceted album – which is anything but a coincidence for this ambitious sound craftsman who loves pocket symphonies and high-quality pop culture.
After starting out in hip hop, soundtracks and other commissioned work, the gifted Parisian with an overflowing imagination started writing his pop great work last year. Fully composed in the multi-instrumentalist dandy’s home studio in Montmartre, this album shows precision and romanticism in the writing, reminding of the golden age of the 60s blended with the best sounds of the history of modern pop.
